I fished both sections April 23 with the water running high but clear at 310 cfs and cold at 55 degrees. Lots of apple caddis throughout the day, but no rising fish at all. None of the usually productive places produced, although I did find one little run where I connected with a pair of bead-head nymphs. Now the river is up again with Wednesday’s rain, but it’s just a matter of time before conditions improve. Jim Merritt
