The last few weeks have been a real rollercoaster on the Asbury stretch and waters local. I believe due to constant fluctuating flows and temperature. By no means is the fishing poor, lots of opportunities at putting fish in the net if you put your time in. All the usual suspect holes are producing but prospecting and reading the higher water can certainly pay off. I’ve been focusing on Tightline nymphing various patterns I’ve been tying. Your typical Pheasant tais and larvae patterns producing well, I’m sure swinging big ugly stuff will get the job done as well! Been hitting some Pa. streams recently with a mix of Browns and Bows, boy those Pa. Browns are beautiful and feisty too. Looking forward to seeing everyone next month at the dinner, until then tight lines and dry waders……….

He’s out of hibernation guys! I figured a couple of sunny days and (somewhat) lower water flows would wake him up. Been waiting for an update John, glad to see you’ve emerged…..and with good news. High and cold are tough conditions any time of year let alone it being February. Catching this time of year is a special treat. Looking forward to seeing everybody soon.

Anthony, it’s been a busy winter. I’ve been averaging 3-4 outings a week. Lots of tying and learning new fly’s in between. Let’s try to get out soon!

John, You are one hardy guy! I am looking forward to fishing the Musky starting in April, when it will be warmer and water levels hopefully a lot lower. Jim Merritt
